A série conta a historia de uma adolescente (Spencer) que se muda de Ohio com os pais para Los Angeles. No primeiro dia de aula ela conhece uma garota (Ashley) rebelde e obviamente muito mais experiente do que ela. As duas começam a sair juntas e, quando pinta um clima durante uma tarde na casa da Ashley a Spencer se assusta, mas, dada a curiosidade, elas continuam andando juntas. Nisso ela começa a se apaixonar pela nova amiga e a questionar sua sexualidade no processo.
